Equalities Information
Rokeby School is part of Newham Community Learning. As a public institution, the Trust publishes its Public Sector Equality Duty and Objectives on the Policies Page of the Trust website. As a school, we publish an annual equalities analysis report which can be found here.
The Duty states that all public sector bodies (which includes all schools), in carrying out their work, need to ensure that they actively support the objectives of the Equality Act 2010 to:
(a) eliminate discrimination, harassment, victimisation and any other conduct that is prohibited by or under the Equality Act 2010;
(b) advance equality of opportunity between persons who share a relevant protected characteristic (these are: disability, sex [gender], race [ethnicity], pregnancy and maternity, religion and belief, sexual orientation, gender reassignment; as a school, we do not have direct responsibility in the areas of either age or marriage and civil partnership), and persons who do not share it;
(c) foster good relations between persons who share a relevant protected characteristic and persons who do not share it.
To ensure transparency, and to assist in the performance of this Duty, we are also required by the Equality Act 2010 to publish:
(a) information and analysis of our school population, and
(b) equality objectives, at least every 4 years.
Should you require any further information, please contact the school office.
