Year 9 Options
Overview
At Rokeby School, we believe that the Year 9 Options process is very important. The process provides an opportunity for all students to have increased control of the choices they make about their education. The options chosen in Year 9 will impact the remainder of students’ time at school over the following two years. These choices will also influence which options are available after Year 11 in terms of further study and career pathways.
It is vitally important that students to choose subjects for the correct reasons. Parents and carers are encouraged to spend some time with their children thinking about which subjects they enjoy doing, and what keeps them interested and motivated. Children will also need to think about which subjects will offer them the further study pathways and career options they wish to pursue.
The information posted on this page is aimed at supporting parents and students through this process. Parents are encouraged to speak to form tutors should they have any queries after reviewing the information on this page.
Year 9 Options Evening
Year 9 Options Evening will take place annually in February, with parents and students advised of dates nearer the time.
This evening is compulsory for all to attend and is where students will be making their final option choices. Families will also have an opportunity to speak to Subject Leaders to help with any decisions to be made.
